This is the setup I have and it works fine. I did try eliminating the Actiontec from my network by having Verizon switch my OTN connection to Ethernet and then connected my ASUS directly to the OTN. No difference in performance or network reliability. FYI I have had the Actiontec for twenty months and it has always performed reliably as a router. There's also an ASUS RT-N66U that has a couple thousand Amazon reviews and seems to be well regarded, and it's also priced about fifty bux less than the RT-N66R. Frankly I didn't notice the R vs. U change until I got the thing home, but the price I paid at BB was the same as the 66U and like I said, as long as it keeps working I'll be happy.
